do people on this site ever trade bootlegs or tracks amongst eachother? there are Marc tracks I am looking for and I have just about everything he has put out as soft cell/mambas/solo career along with guest vocals with different artists. so is trading here taboo or kosher? I hope to chat with you all soon!

    No taboo here.....trade away.

Oh, by the way......Does anyone have a CD version of Marc's Jacque (sp?) Brel cover album? I only have it on cassette. I bought it off a guy on the street in the East Village in the early 90's. It's way worn out now and I'd love to be able to rip it to my i-pod.

      Yup on both subjects.

Michael - we'll talk at our Seattle Cellmates meeting.

Heather - I have Jacques on CD. Message me and we can talk trade.

Off the top of my head I'm looking for the version of ...A Man Could get Lost with vocals, and the Metro M.R.X. flexidisc. And of course boots and live shows, esp. Soft Cell

I've got a lot of stuff ... but my stuff is mainly archived in mp3, so it's not up to snuff for audiophiles...

Isn't A Man Could Get Lost with vocals, just the Insecure Me combo?

My favorite Marc song is "Satan's Child". ;)

I would hope that folks limit these activities to things that are truly out of print/never in print (and that if they return to print you purchase them).

Folks like to assume that artists never see a cent. This can happen but unless you know the contract it's not something you can assume to be true. It benefits everyone when a record by one of our favorite artists does well - it means someone will want to put out more. And I'd like to see lots of new Marc Almond albums myself.

Marc's new single being released is a acover of Baby's on Fire by Eno. heh heh heh... I wonder if it will be like his cover of Self Control by Laura Branigan... All is good...

      Cheers

Ah, Self Control is tasty. But nothing tops the brilliance of putting that Mission: Impossible riff in the middle of Like a Prayer...
